This week in reading we read If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff. We had fun retelling this story and making text-to-text connections with the other Laura Numeroff books we have read. We really focused on phoneme segmentation this week and practiced breaking apart words.

In math this week we had fun finding math partners and adding them together! We also continued to use ten frames to make teen numbers. We will soon be focusing more on subtraction as we learn the symbol for take away as well.

In social studies this week we reviewed maps and began talking about needs, wants and the differences between the two. This week we will dive more into needs and wants and how they are different at home and at school.

-Valentines may be brought in this Friday, they are optional
-The Cookie Mouse will be at the Holland Barnes and Noble this Saturday at 2:00. It will be a Valentine theme with a story and a craft
